No-exam life insurance
What accelerated underwriting means, the types of applicants it fits best, and the process if underwriting takes longer.
Many carriers now have accelerated underwriting programs that decide applications—for people within specified age and coverage limits—using the application answers, your prescription history, driving record, and other data, rather than requiring you to see an examiner. Approvals can come the same business day. Each rate quote you see on this site indicates whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not needed for that particular coverage.
What it changes
Accelerated underwriting does not skip the underwriting step. Your answers will be checked, and a policy issued based on false information can be rescinded within the first two years. If the carrier uncovers anything during its review, it may still order an exam or additional tests—but you choose whether to move forward.
Who tends to qualify
Most commonly, those under age sixty who want coverage amounts within the carrier's thresholds, with a clean health record and no tobacco use for at least a year. If you have recent lab work from your doctor, many carriers will use those results rather than ordering new tests.
Expect a 20- to 30-minute paramedical exam at a location you choose—your home or workplace in the Rancho Palos Verdes area—at no charge to you. For healthy applicants, a favorable exam result can actually improve your rate class, so it is not necessarily bad news.
